Only a small percentage goes very "deep." In reality, the hypnotist wants participants that aren't exceptionally deep so they are still responsive and actively having fun on stage.

Hypnosis is a natural state of mind that we all experience typically on a daily basis - we just don't call it hypnosis. Whenever you lose track of time deeply immersed in an activity or even find yourself daydreaming, that's a form of hypnosis. We simply bring out and enhance that state on purpose. Nearly everyone on this planet can be hypnotized - the very small percentage that isn't readily "suggestible" commonly still enjoys the relaxation or just experiencing something new. Cynics are often our favorite people to hypnotize. People do experience hypnosis at different depths, but the best folks who might appear on stage aren't necessarily those who go the "depeest" into hypnosis. 

Hypnosis is very much unlike how Hollywood portrays it for dramatic effect. While we might have fun "pretending" to be a zombie or momentarily forget our name in hypnosis, noone ever leaves our experiences actually as a zombie or has amnesia... in fact, we WANT you to remember the fantastic experience so you can tell all your friends! 

Our experiences focus on the mental well being and physical safety first - keep in mind, we separately perform clinical work with clients for anxiety, trauma, and other matters and care very much about every participant. We always strive to educate and demistfy hypnosis at the same time we are looking to give you an incredible experience. Events end with an opportunity to ask questions of the hypnotist.

All of our experiences are clean and suitable for families unless you tell us otherwise and we can kick things up a notch or two. 

There are few experiences like a comedy hypnosis show. In the opening segment, every single audience member participates and has an opportunity to experience hypnosis. Then, select individuals will join the hypnotist up front or on stage. 

The show commonly opens with music and a recorded introduction. After a discussion about what hypnosis is and debunking Hollywood myths, we move on to hypnosis warm-up exercises that all audience members can do. Select members are then welcomed up front to be the stars. Depending on the hilarity that ensues, we enjoy approximately 15 - 20 comedy hypnosis "skits." All participants leave with the gift of feeling refreshed, motivated and ready to take on life by the horns. If you opt for the 30min add-on Self-Hypnosis Workshop, the full audience is involved once again in the discussion and practice runs to self-hypnotize.

Our live, in person comedy hypnosis show MINDS WIDE OPEN runs approximately 60 minutes or 90 minutes for the longer experience that includes a discussion and practice of self-hypnosis - a great takeaway for the audience.

Note: organizers often ask if anyone can get "stuck" in hypnosis. An occassional person may fall asleep because they are so relaxed and came into the experience exhausted. Usually some simple commands wake them up.
